What is Talent Seekers?
Talent Seekers is an international association of cultural, artistic and media professionals whose aim is to promote their own projects, as well as to collectively search for new talents in all creative disciplines. For this purpose, the organization has developed a network of authors, general public, promoters and sponsors to actively participate in reaching these objectives. For further details, please visit our homepage.
How can Talent Seekers help cultural managers?
Talent Seekers gives its associated professionals – the members of jury – a platform from which to diffuse their own projects, as well as offering their services to interested members of Talent Seekers. In this sense, we have at our disposal a specialized news agency and a tool that permits the inter-change of news and advertisements with other cultural promoters, so that the same are diffused within their respective collectives by means of their own communication channels.
How can Talent Seekers help new talent?
Our aim is to highlight each year a total of 100 individuals or artistic groups of any country chosen by the public in each of the 10 categories of which the contest consists (a total of 1,000 authors). In addition, we will have a specialised jury and sponsors who will offer prizes to the winners. For further details, please visit our homepage.
Who can take part in Talent Seekers?
Any person interested in art, music or literature – professionals as well as amateurs - has a place at Talent Seekers. All you have to do is choose one of the different ways of registering: Author, Public, Jury or Sponsor. For further details, please visit our homepage.
Can I participate in more than one category?
Yes you can, providing you meet the requirements of participation in each of the categories. Bear in mind that you cannot be both an author and a member of the jury, in one same category of the contest, but you can, for example, be a member of the jury and also a sponsor. To do this, however, you need to use a different email address for each category you decide to participate in, as well as being admitted by Talent Seekers personnel, once your application form had been analysed.
How can I contact Talent Seekers?
To contact us you must register at Talent Seekers and, once a member, go to the “Inquiries” section (sixth line of the left-hand menu).
What is the method of selection for artists to be evaluated by the jury?
During the first edition of the International Talent Seekers Awards, we have come to the conclusion that thousands of people have voted exclusively for the artist friend that had invited them. This means that the number of followers each artist managed to mobilize proved to be a determining factor for them to be selected in the final phase of the Awards. This is not necessarily negative, as it could sometimes be an indicative of their quality and professional success. However, and in order to obtain a higher degree of equality and increase the opportunities of all artists, from now on finalists in each category will be selected using the following criteria:

1. Points issued in previous editions will be accumulative and will therefore be taken into account for the present edition. With this we hope to avoid users the inconvenience of repeating the same evaluation process, allowing them instead to concentrate on looking for talent between the artists they have not previously evaluated.

2. A percentage of finalist artists will be chosen by the jury. These will be artists that the members of the jury have voted for in the first phase of the contest, both in the past and present editions, being the total number of points the determining factor. The percentage will be decided by the organization at their criteria.

3. A percentage of the finalist artists will be chosen by the users of Talent Seekers who have demonstrated their commitment to the project by voting for a minimum of X artists (X will be an amount decided by the organization and it will not be revealed in order to avoid incentivising fraud). This way, users who do not vote exclusively for the artist friend who has invited them to do so, will have a power of decision which they previously lacked. This percentage will be decided by the organization following their criteria.

4. The rest of artists will be chosen by the original method used in the first edition. This means that the total number of points accumulated to date, including those received in previous editions, will determine access to the final, although this will exclude artists who have already reached the final in previous editions. These artists will only be able to reach the final if they have been chosen by the above-mentioned methods 2 and 3.

5. In the case of a tie in the final positions between several artists, the organization will apply its own criteria.

6. The jury will have the right to veto, during Phase 1, the access of certain artists to Phase 2. This right to veto will only be effective when a minimum number of jury members coincide in their negative evaluation with respect to the same artist. The number of jury members will be determined by the organization. Our intention with this measure is to avoid artists with an evident lack of quality reaching the final, leaving their position to artists of greater quality.

7. Artists arriving at the final, without being awarded one single point by the jury, will automatically be eliminated from the list of finalists before it is made public.

8. The organization reserves the right to modify the categories, the number of artists per category, the dates of each phase and the selection formulas of artists, as well as any other aspect regarding the contest, providing the users involved are notified in this respect before the end of Phase 1. In this way, those users who are not in agreement with these modifications can cease their membership to Talent Seekers before the process of evaluation by the jury begins.
