After Joel Styzens was diagnosed with tinnitus and hyperacusis, he left his career as a professional drummer to begin composing for guitar and collaborating with cellist Katinka Kleijn from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, resulting in the relaxing, captivating, and uplifting meditations found "Relax Your Ears" -- the first release on his label, A-Sharp Records.
According to the American Tinnitus Association, over 50 million Americans suffer from tinnitus. Supportive networks, as well as widespread public education on the condition and its prevention, are increasingly necessary in a high-volume world.
Styzens attends to use A-Sharp Records as a forum where musicians with hearing ailments can connect, collaborate on recordings, and give each other support, using the label’s website to raise awareness about hearing conservation.
"Relax Your Ears" is now available through the American Tinnitus Association website. |

| Poema apropiacionista perteneciente a la exposicion de Cesar Reglero, que se esta realizando actualmente en la Escuela de Artes Plasticas de la Casa de la Cultura de Maldonado (Uruguay). Esta muestra nace a partir de la Antologia de la Poesia Visual Espanola Apropiacionista de la Editorial Corona del Sur. La imagen intervenida es de J.M. Calleja y la re-apropiacion escultorica es de Juan Angel Italiano, Comisario de la muestra, y quien da las siguientes explicaciones: El apropiacionismo es el empleo consciente, de elementos pertenecientes a otras obras art�icas, bien de su misma epoca o bien de epocas precedentes, para desarrollar parcial o completamente una obra que firma como propia. |

L\'opera di Martinis si contraddistingue per le geometrie sinuose, evocanti una sensualità astratta: si respira una atmosfera rarefatta che seduce nei colori, nel loro nascere e morire, senza mischiarsi.
Una atmosfera che non vuole essere nè ostile nè complicata: un inno alla gioia sussurrato su di una tavolozza con pochi rimpianti.
Non esistono compromessi nelle tele di Martinis: l\'artista ci obbliga ad un unico forte pensiero, che va poi a sbriciolarsi in tanti piccoli rivoli.
Si percepsice quasi un monotono turbinio, come di un\'altalena a fine corsa. Osservando le opere di Martinis a volte sembra che qualcosa stia di lì a poco per accadere, a volte invece siamo certi che qualcosa è già accaduto. Ce lo dicono i soggetti, la loro solitudine accartocciata e languida.
